The GCC participated in the 3rd specialized railway workshop held on Wednesday, 16 January 2019, organized by Oman Rail Company, with the participation of railway specialists from GCC States, the European Union Railway Agency (ERA), the European rail manufacturing industry (UNIFE), and the  Intergovernmental Organization for International Carriage by Rail (OTIF).

During the workshop, a number of papers were presented in various fields related to the railway sector, which will enhance the implementation of the GCC Railway. The GCC presented a paper on "the risk management in railway projects".

This workshop comes within the framework of implementing the memorandums of understanding signed between the GCC and the European specialized organizations, to transfer their successful experiences in this vital field to the GCC states.
