The GCC Customs Departments of the Ministries of Interior held a joint meeting during the period from 1-2 May 2019, at the GCC headquarters, in Riyadh. The meeting was chaired by, Lt. Col. Salim bin Ali Al Kalbani, Director of Ports Affairs of Oman's Directorate General of Passport & Residence, with the participation of the representatives of the GCC States, and the GCC Secretariat.

The meeting discussed a number of issues related to the Freedom of movement between member states, and developing the routes for the GCC citizens and their families at the crossing borders in order to facilitate their passage through.
