Mubarak Said Al Khyeli, Director General of the GCCPOL, visited the Kingdom of Bahrain to discuss a number of important security issues of common interest, in the framework of enhancing the GCC cooperation and coordination regarding its joint security. The GCCPOL were received on Tuesday, 8 January 2019, by HE Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Interior Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, who stressed the GCCPOL important role in combating crime, and developing regional and international partnerships with organizations working in this field, which contributes to dealing effectively with the challenges and the rapid changes in fighting trans-border and organized crime.HE the Minister of Interior briefed the GCCPOL delegation on the programs and projects within the framework of the Ministry of Interior tasks and responsibilities, and its efforts supporting the GCC security information system of combating terrorism and organized crime.The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chief of Public Security, and the Director General for Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security.The GCCPOL delegation also visited the Public Security headquarters where they met Maj Gen. Tareq Hassan Al Hassan, Chief of Public Security, and discussed the achievements made during the past period and the GCCPOL plan for the coming period. They also visited a number of departments, most notably, the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security, the Operations Room, and the Computer Crimes and Electronic Evidence Laboratory. Then, Col. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Haram, Director General of the Joint Counterterrorism Center, gave a presentation on the Center's role in coordinating the efforts combating terrorism. The GCCPOL delegation also visited the Royal Academy of Police, they were received by, Col. Musa Issa Al-Dosari, commander of Security Research, where he briefed them on the Academy various programs for officers, military students or individuals.
