  The GCC and the Kingdom of the Netherlands Discuss Means of Economic Cooperation

The GCC and officials of the embassies of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the GCC States held a meeting on Monday, 11 March 2019, at the GCC headquarters, to discuss economic cooperation between sides, as well as, the GCC economic integration, and its strategic dialogue with other countries and groups.

The Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Negotiations, Dr. Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Owaishek stated that this meeting, which came at the request of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, comes within the framework of strengthening relations of cooperation and friendship with the Netherlands and EU countries, the first trading partner of the GCC states.

Dr. Al-Owaishek said that the GCC Supreme Council affirmed at the recent summit held in Riyadh on 9 December 2018, the importance of establishing strategic partnerships and dialogue between the GCC and other countries and groups, enhancing the interests of the GCC States and its citizens.

The Assistant Secretary-General pointed out that the GCC seeks through the strategic dialogue, framework agreements, memorandums of understanding, and free trade agreements with dozens of countries and organizations in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas to organize political and security consultations, promote trade and investments, and strengthen relations and communications among their peoples.
