  The GCC and the United Kingdom discuss the Developments of the GCC-UK Strategic Partnership

The GCC Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Negotiations, Dr. Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Owaishek, met on Monday, 11 March 2019, at the British Foreign Office headquarters, the British Minister of State for the Middle East, Mr. Alistair Burt, and the Director of the Gulf and North Africa Department of the British Foreign Office, Ms.  Julie Scott.

During the meeting they discussed the latest developments in regards to the ongoing cooperation in achieving the GCC-UK strategic partnership, in the fields of politics and security, trade and investment, the response to humanitarian crises and the enhancement of regional growth and prosperity. As well as planning future meetings and joint workshops between the two sides.

They also discussed the outcomes of the recent MESA meeting, held in Washington with the participation of the GCC States, the United States of America, the Kingdom of Jordan and the Arab Republic of Egypt, which aims at resolving conflicts and managing crises.

Both sides stressed that these joint meetings seek to strengthen the GCC-UK strategic partnership, and expand the horizons of joint cooperation.
