  The GCC-UK Joint Cooperation Committee held the 7th Meeting

GCC – Riyadh

The GCC-UK Joint Cooperation Committee between the GCC and a delegation of the British Government held on Wednesday, 31 October 2018, at the GCC headquarters in Riyadh, the 7th meeting that comes within the framework of consolidating a strategic partnership between GCC and the United Kingdom.

During the meeting they discussed, ways to enhance cooperation between the GCC and the United Kingdom in various fields. Dr. Abdul Aziz Hamad Al Owaishek, Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Negotiations, said that they discussed the joint events to implement the approved work plans, coordination meetings, and workshops to be organized by the two sides during the upcoming year 2019; that includes, the implementation of the GCC-UK communication strategy and the Joint Action Plan to counter Terrorism and Extremism. 

The Assistant Secretary General affirmed that these meetings between the GCC and representatives of the British government confirm the keenness of the two sides to strengthen the strategic partnership established by the GCC and British leaders at the first British Gulf Summit in December 2016, and expand the political, security, military and commercial cooperation.
