As part of the Gulf Network for Quality Assurance of Higher Education plan to know more about the GCC educational institutions regarding their experiences in improving and developing the quality of educational programs and Curriculums, sharing and transferring knowledge to other GCC members, HE Dr. Khamis Saleh Al Balushi, Director General of the GNQAHE visited Kuwait University and the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training in Kuwait.
The GNQAHE delegation was welcomed by Dr. Ali Al-Kandari, Assistant Vice-President for Scientific Affairs, and Dr. Majed Al-Daihani, Assistant Vice-President for Strategic Planning. The GNQAHE Director General gave a brief on the GNQAHE establishment and its objectives to further the coordination among the GCC concerned authorities. He also expressed the GNQAHE efforts in the past period, and its plan for the current year. The Assistant Vice-President stressed the University's keenness to cooperate and coordinate with GNQAHE in all that ensure the quality of higher education.
The GNQAHE delegation also visited the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training. They were welcomed by, Mr. Mohammed Al-Hamdan, Director of Quality Control and Accreditation, who gave a presentation on the regulations applied in the Authority and the statistics of training and qualification, and referred to the certificates obtained by the Authority in quality control.
The two sides agreed on the importance of coordinating efforts and enhance cooperation by jointly organize training courses or workshops for evaluators and reviewers of quality of higher education in the GCC educational institutions, under the GNQAHE supervision.
The meeting was attended by a number of members of the Gulf Network for Quality Assurance of Higher Education, the Kuwait University, and the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training.
