  The GCC-CICCD joins the CARICC as an Observer

The GCC-Criminal Information Center to Combat Drugs joined the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre for Combating Illicit Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors, with the membership of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), based in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

This includes the exchange of intelligence on combating illicit trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors, as well as, exchanging experiences and training programs.

The GCC-CICCD Director, Brig. Saqer Rashid Al- Meraikhi stated that cooperating with regional and international blocs and organizations is an important addition to opening new horizons for exchanging the experiences in combating illicit trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, representing a milestone in the joint cooperation between the two sides on exchanging intelligence and successful experiences in combating illicit trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors; In addition to its contribution to enhancing the international cooperation and coordination among centers and organizations working in this field, and strengthening the Unified International Network.

Brig. Al-Meraikhi pointed out that The GCC-CICCD has great relations with many regional and international blocs, whose main objective is to suppress and eliminate the scourge of drugs, such as; Interpol, Europol, Asianpol, the Joint Cell of Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan for Drug Control (JCP), the Center for Integration and Law Enforcement for the Safety and Security of the Sea (REFLEXES), the Southeast European Law Enforcement Center (SELEC), the Arab Office for Drug Affairs, the Federal Criminal Police Office of Germany (BKA), the Turkish International Academy Against Drugs and Organized Crime (TADOC), the Regional Intelligence Liaison Office (RILO) - Middle East, based in Riyadh, and the International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP).
